Labour Congress Pledges To Support Government Agenda

A high-level delegation from the Sierra Leone Labour Congress has called at State House to pledge their commitment to the Sierra Leone Peoples Party government and support the agenda of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.


Sierra Leone First Lady Kicks Off Hands Off Our Girls!

The Office Of The First Lady, in collaboration with The Ministry of Gender and social welfare staged a peaceful protest against sexual violence on Sat 15th Dec. in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The peaceful protest started as The First Ladies from Chad, Gambia and Niger joined. The protest started with about 1 thousand protesters at cotton tree, as at the time the procession got to Congo cross, there were over two thousand protesters.


Sierra Leone Armed Forces To Enlist More Women

Initially 10 females were enlisted as CADETS in 1978 and 64 enlisted as RECRUITS in 1979. For the up-coming all-female recruitment, a total of 300 females will be recruited from all the Regions, Districts and Chiefdoms across the country. The launching ceremony of the recruitment took place at 10:00am on Saturday, 15 December, 2018 at the Aberdeen Roundabout near the Aberdeen Police Station.


African Union Committee Presents Final Report

President Julius Maada Bio Receives the Final Report of the Ministerial Meeting of the African Union Committee of 10. The African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Her Excellency Madam Minata Samate Cessouma, expressed great satisfaction at the outcome of the meeting that was held in Freetown. She also registered her appreciation of the kind hospitality Sierra Leone had offered them during the course of their deliberations in Freetown.
